After tribal nations were able to legally offer casinos, the idea of Treasure Island was born, and it has grown into the massive resort and casino that it is today. Island Bingo was the first name of this property, and bingo was the only game that was offered. The casino is located on the Mississippi River, and the casino provides more than 200,000 square feet of gaming space. Located in Welch, Minn., the Treasure Island Resort Casino is owned and operated by the Prairie Island Indian Community.
The most recent renovation occurred in 2015, and it helped create one of the top tourist attractions in the state of Minnesota. Treasure Island Resort Casino opened in 1984, but there have been several renovations done since that time.
